Movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently baffled by The Boys’ spinoff The Boys Presents: Varsity, and that’s great news for the show. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, has been cast to play a major supe in the show, which has already begun filming. Patrick’s behind-the-scenes pictures of The Boys Presents: Varsity shocked Arnold Schwarzenegger, a reaction that is nothing new for viewers of The Boys.
Not much is known about The Boys Presents: Varsity, but the little that is known builds a lot of hype for the spinoff. The show will follow a group of young adult supes as they compete in various challenges at the Vought-run Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. Whereas the Seven are a parody of the Justice League, Varsity will follow a team known as the G-Men, an obvious parody of Marvel’s X-Men. That’s about the extent of what is known about the show, but Varsity is sure to be just as violent and vulgar as the show it is spinning off of, The Boys.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is already busy filming Varsity, where he is rumored to play a young supe named Golden Boy. After showing his father pictures of the show, Patrick says that Arnold succinctly exclaimed, “What the f*ck are you filming?” The Boys is incredibly dark, violent, and sexual, and the fact that Varsity shocks an actor as big as Arnold Schwarzenegger proves that the spinoff will not be a failure in this department. While Varsity is an original story set in the universe of The Boys, Arnie’s big reaction proves that Varsity may even be wilder than its parent series.
Varsity just started filming in May 2022, meaning that the photos Patrick showed his father were probably set photos unaltered by visual effects. If the raw footage was shocking enough to give Arnold such a bewildered reaction, the finished footage is sure to be even wilder. On top of that, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in numerous action movies, such as The Terminator, Predator, and Total Recall. The fact that Schwarzenegger has been on all of those big R-rated movie sets and is still shocked by Varsity proves just how over-the-top The Boys’ spinoff will be.
While The Boys’ first spinoff, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, was animated, the live-action Varsity spinoff is sure to continue all the live-action gory goodness of the original series. Patrick’s story about his dad is one of the only hints as to the show’s quality to date, and Arnold’s reaction is already setting expectations high. If the show is shocking enough to shake a big-time Hollywood veteran like Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Boys Presents: Varsity is almost guaranteed to be just as wild (if not wilder) than The Boys.
