Hugh Jackman has shared a new image flaunting his impressive physique ahead of Deadpool 3’s filming.

Both have also shared photos of the two working out and prepping to reprise their iconic characters in the MCU for the first time.

Following some impressive progress photos of Ryan Reynolds, Jackman has his own update, one that certainly gives Wade Wilson a run for his money.

Wolverine Shows off His Muscles
In a new Instagram post by Wolverine star Hugh Jackman, the iconic superhero shared a look at his jaw-dropping muscles as he gets ready to become a mutant once again.

Alongside the photo was a caption, with the 54-year-old Jackman teasing his 46-year-old co-star Ryan Reynolds:

”He’s only 46. And I’m older. But it’s not a competition.”

This showcases a huge step up from Jackman’s “work in progress” gym flex picture that he shared on September 30, 2022.

The Australian’s muscle development will leave many wondering whether he takes steroids, but Jackman insists that “no,” he does not, but has instead done it “the old school way,” having eaten plenty of chickens in his time:

“No, I love my job. And I love Wolverine. I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t love it that much.’ So no, I just did it the old school way. And I tell you, I’ve eaten more chickens — I’m so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world. Literally the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I’m in trouble.”

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jackman previously promised he will be getting “bigger than ever” for his Wolverine comeback, something he clearly appears to be delivering on ahead of Deadpool 3‘s production start.

As part of that process, the actor will be living on “about 6000 calories a day” – for context, the average man eats from around 2000 to 3000 calories daily spending on their specific goals.

There’s no denying it: both of the leads are looking very impressive. Sometimes a little competition leads to some admirable results.

Though, Jackman will likely take the lead when it comes to showing off one’s physique. Logan tends to keep his arms bare while Deadpool’s muscles are hidden under his red spandex.

Even if Wolverine happens to finally get his comic-accurate suit, the mutant’s form is still fully on display.

No doubt, Reynolds will have plenty of comments to say about it when the movie rolls around. Perhaps the Merc With the Mouth will claim victory anyhow, seeing as Wolverine is already fated to die (see Logan).

The two actors taking comedic shots at each other is likely only just beginning, seeing as production hasn’t even started yet. It’s probably safe to assume that many more shots will be taken as the project rolls cameras.
