Arnold Schwarzenegger Once Hilariously Destroyed Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson With His Dig During WrestleMania
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a bonafide global icon. The ‘Austrian Oak’ has excelled in every industry in which he took part and is a true example of a successful immigrant story. No individual even comes close to representing the ‘American Dream’ more than him. Arnold has been a part of various TV shows as well, including the WWE Network.
The legend has often featured in WWE’s special events and has become an integral part of the industry.
Arnold Schwarzenegger meets Dwayne and Rousey
Arnold’s links with the WWE date back to when he became friends with ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham and worked with Jesse Ventura in ‘The Running Man’. He is also good friends with WWE CEO Vince McMahon and Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. Arnold also got the opportunity to present his friend, Bruno Sammartino, as an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
In 2015, Schwarzenegger visited the 31st annual WrestleMania event. After the event, he took to the popular social media website, Facebook, to post a photo of himself with WWE stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Ronda Rousey. Arnold wrote, “Great to see you two tonight at WrestleMania. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, you’re looking lean and mean, my friend. Ronda Rousey, you look ready to win another three championships in a row.”
The post was a friendly dig aimed toward Dwayne, who is another good friend of Arnold’s. The two have often met with each other and had a good time. Intriguingly, Dwayne was in contention to replace Arnold as ‘The Terminator’ in the popular movie franchise. While Dwayne was a wrestling star who later forayed into acting, Rousey was a UFC fighter who joined the WWE in 2015 itself. The WrestleMania 31 marked her first appearance in 2015, but the former Olympic judo bronze medalist made her wrestling debut in 2018.
2015 was a special year for Arnold too. He was inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame. Interestingly, in 1999, Arnold was presented with his own WWE Championship belt replica during the early episodes of SmackDown. Later in the episode, he got involved in an all-out brawl with Triple H.
Arnold recognizes similar traits in Dwayne
Arnold has remained in the limelight for decades now. He has often reinvented himself to keep up with changing times, and he sees the same traits in Dwayne Johnson. ‘The Rock’ started with the WWE and forayed into Hollywood, and has become one of the highest-paid actors in the world.
Arnold identified a screen presence both he and Johnson share, owing to their similar backgrounds. He said his screen presence came from bodybuilding while Johnson’s came from wrestling. He is a very believable action actor and a great talker.
It was no surprise to Arnold that Johnson became a star and how far he went in his career. But Arnold wants to accredit all of Dwayne’s accomplishments to his hard work and determination.
The Ultimate List of the Best Action Movie Hero Names
Arnold Schwarzenegger (aka “Arnie”, “The Austrian Oak”, or “The Govenator”) is an ultimate action movie legend of the first class. Both a former Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia champion bodybuilder and former Governor of California, Arnold has risen to the highest levels of worldly success.
Born in Thal, Styria, Austria, Arnold made his breakthrough into Hollywood action movies originally in sword-and-sorcery with Conan the Barbarian and in sci-fi with The Terminator, early roles which let him hide his thick accent and lack of American acting experience.
However, Arnold quickly found his niche and would go on to helm some of the most critically and commercially successful action movie blockbusters of all time. Including Terminator 2: Judgement Day and the Terminator Series, Commando, Predator, Total Recall and True Lies to name a few. While he has eased up in later years to pursue public office, his legacy remains Arnold strong!
